2018-2021

Sanctuary was restorative justice community development project that reclaimed a former golf course to transform it into an refuge for residents to have access and agency over the their healing from structural violence and systemic racism that caused the Flint Water Crisis.

Sanctuary collaborated with the Genesee Conservation District and the City of Flint planning department. The project produced a native plant garden, created community arts programming including drum circles, concerts in the park, arts workshops, and an arts festival.
